[Fairview Heights, Il.]-On July 26, 2012 at 12:53 pm, the Fairview Heights Police Department began investigating the theft of a purse at The Pasta House, 4660 North Illinois Street.

The 35 year old female victim from Edwardsville reported she was seated outside on the Pasta House patio when the suspect grabbed her purse from the table and immediately ran.  The suspect was last observed running south behind Pasta House.

The suspect is described as a 20 year old black male, approximately 6 foot tall, 170 to 180 pounds.  He was wearing a white tank top, shorts and a red baseball hat.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  No one was injured in the incident.
