On July 27, 2012 at approx 12:42 p.m. the Fairview Heights Police Department received a complaint from an investigator for the State of Illinois, Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, that he had just been given a cash bribe from a representative of The Beautiful Nails & Spa, 10850 Lincoln Trail, Fairview Heights, IL. 

The investigator reported to police that he had been assigned to investigate complaints of unsanitary conditions at the nail spa.  On today’s date he responded to the nail spa to follow up on the complaint and to check the conditions of the business.  When he asked the manager for cleaning logs the manager escorted him to where the investigator believed the logs were kept.  Once out of view from the public the manager gave the investigator a sealed envelope.  The investigator went back to the main business area and contacted the FHPD.  The envelope was handed to police and a search found it to contain U.S. currency.  The manager was subsequently arrested for bribery.

On July 28, 2012, State Attorney, Brendan Kelly’s office issued a one-count felony arrest warrant charging:

                        Male/Asian

                        43 y.o.a.

                        5449 Mardel

                        St Louis, MO

with Bribery with Dang’s bond set at $75,000.  Dang later posted $7,500 cash and was released pending an upcoming court date.  Bribery is a class 2 felony.
