Armed Robbery at Mr. Nice Guys

On Monday, June 11, 2018, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Fairview Heights Police officers were dispatched to Mr. Nice Guys, 10300 Lincoln Trail for a 911 call of an armed robbery, which had just occurred.

When officers arrived, they learned that two men walked into the store and demanded money from the cash register and safe. One of the men was carrying a handgun, and both men were wearing clown masks and dark clothing. The suspects are described as black males; one approximately 6’1 tall with an athletic or muscular build, the second was shorter, about 5’8 with a heavier build. The suspects approached and left the business from the east side of the building and are presumed to have entered an awaiting vehicle to depart the area.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

The suspects were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash and an employee’s purse.

This is the first armed robbery reported in the City of Fairview Heights since June 2017 and only the third in the past two years.

Detectives are currently seeking video from area businesses and are asking for anyone with information or exterior cameras which may have footage of the suspects to contact the police department at (618) 489-2130.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
