Fight Leaves Victim With Stab Wounds

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the Wingate Hotel, 140 Ludwig Dr. to investigate an altercation, which occurred in a vehicle outside of the hotel.

The female caller was found to be a victim of several stab wounds that had resulted from being attacked by another female. The female victim reported that she was contacted by phone earlier in the evening by a male she was familiar with, who later met the victim on the Wingate Hotel parking lot. While the victim was sitting in the front seat of the male’s vehicle, she was attacked from behind by another female who was hiding in the back of the SUV. While being attacked, the victim was stabbed in the face and shoulder. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was able to identify both male and female suspects by name. They were later located at their residence by Belleville police, where Both were taken into custody and transferred to the Fairview Heights Police Department where they are being held while the investigation continues.
