On Thursday, September 7, 2017, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Fairview Heights’ officers responded to a 911 call for an armed robbery, which had occurred on St. Clair Avenue in the area of Magdalena.
When officers arrived, they learned the victim had been walking eastbound on St. Clair Avenue when he was approached from behind by two males, with one suspect displaying a handgun. The suspects demanded the victim’s wallet, which was taken with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim reported that the males were both black males, wearing all black. They were approximately 20 years of age, both with gold teeth. One of the suspects had a short trimmed beard and mustache, both wearing black hats.
After the robbery, which occurred at approximately 1:05 a.m. the suspects fled north into the adjacent neighborhood.
A K-9 team from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department responded but were unable to locate the suspects.
The victim was unharmed during the encounter.
