Police Investigate Armed Robbery by Metro Link Tracks

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the Fairview Heights Metro Link station on St. Clair Avenue to investigate a robbery.

When officers arrived they learned the male victim had ridden to the station on a Metro bus, when he got off he began to walk west from the station where he was approached by two males who were also on foot. One of the males showed the victim that he had a handgun tucked in his waistband. The men took cash and other property from the victim and left through a wooded area between Fairview Heights and East St. Louis.

Officers, along with a K-9 unit from the Caseyville Police Department canvassed the area. However, the suspects were not located.

Through the course of the investigation, officers were able to develop one person of interest, who is also a suspect in an aggravated battery, which occurred at the Fairview Heights Metro Link station on October 2, 2018.
