On Thursday, October 5, 2017, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Fairview Heights Police responded to a report of possible gunshots being fired on South Ruby Lane in the area of St. Clair Drive. Upon arrival, officers located the victim of a gunshot wound at a residence. It was determined two suspects had approached the victim at his residence on South Ruby Lane. It is believed an argument and scuffle ensued at which time one of the suspects discharged a firearm which struck the victim. One suspect was located at the scene and taken into custody, while the other suspect fled the scene in a passenger vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The remaining suspect is described as black male, 26-28 years of age, 5’05 tall, average build with short hair. The suspect fled the scene in what was reported as a white, Dodge passenger car.
